I was invited to a blogger / media event yesterday for the Garnier (Singapore) launch of their new 2 in 1 Tinted Roll-on, $22.90 SGD. In stores May 2012

The event was held at a very clever location, "Once Upon a Milkshake" as a) who declines free milkshakes?? and b) being a well-known fact that dairy and sugar cause acne, I figured Garnier was being cheeky and really wanted us to test the product.

Facts:

  • contains Herbasoothe derived from Vaccinium myritillus which soothes and heals, think good stuff like anti-inflammatory, anti-reddening etc..      FYI: upon Googling Vaccinium myrtillus it was spell corrected so... Any how, it is known as the bilberry plant or European wild blueberry.
  • Garnier is made with natural ingredients! (see above)
  • contains a light mineral pigment that covers annoying spots. I tested it on the back of my hand. Why? The back of your hand has thinner skin and therefore you can see if there will be any caking textures. Nope. No cake.
  • apparently there is only one shade that is for everyone. Have you met my friend Faz? Check back as she is letting me put it on her face to see how it covers and blends.

I can say that out the gate for my skin tone if I had an annoying zit then I would use it. The colour suits me.

Reason number 82 as to why my invites will decline to events:

The presentation was quick, although roughly 10 besties showed up all together 1/2 way through so they started the presentation again. Fine. It was quick (I said that right?). Dear Extremely Late People: You should have expressed an apology to the rest of us and Garnier. You were rude.

I got to hear twice how this product was great as 'unlike makeup it won't clog your pores' speeding up the healing process... hm. Not exactly true. Most makeup brands these days are non-comedogenic. It would be better to say that this product does both treat and camouflage so therefore a must-have for breakouts. This kind of misinformation is what has beauty Youtubers telling you to blow on your brushes prior to applying eyeshadow to your eyes. (Blowing on your brushes is icky and a no-no.)

*Watch for Garnier's Youtube PureActive 2 in 1 interactive campain launching next week: MISSING! Find Anne. You play to win up to $1000 in vouchers from Forever 21.

[Sorry - I just have to say as cute as the game seems to be I find that it trivializes young women who go missing every year... But I am not the target market and I am a mother so maybe that's just me...]

Agreed!

Those "late comers" coming in and giggling without apologies to the group makes it seem like they feel that their time is more valuable than the rest. Any how, I'll let it go now. Eye-wink

I had two chocolate shakes. I can't wait to take Zoie!
