Well, here I am week two of Luxola's Le Pétronille Skincare Challenge. [ Read week one here. ]

I'm a sensitive skin kinda girl and as I had mention, I delayed my Essentielle Nuit start as night creams and I are not BFFs - still not. I broke out. Just a few little blemishes. sigh. I stopped the night cream, my blemishes disappeared.

I LOVE the Essentielle Jour (day cream) - so far so good. I do have a cream that works for me at night and I LOVE the Elixirs so I went straight to the horse's mouth with a few questions regarding the Elixirs and mixing them in with my regular cream that I have been using at night for years.

[Elixirs are concentrated boosters that give extra treatment to your skin and 'boosts' your skin creams taking them to the next level.]

"We recommend to use Elixirs with our cream Essentielle: they have been formulated to work in synergy. But you can also use the Elixir with another cream if you love your cream, there is no restriction for that." [Good to know!]

"We do not recommend to use Elixirs alone because they are very concentrated in active ingredients and for someone with sensitive skin, it may be an irritant."

Petronille math: one drop of Elixir to mix with your Essentielle cream every day: morning or/and evening.
"One drop is enough to get results; there is a maximum of absorption by our cells' skin, it isn't 'the more you apply the better the result you get'.
You can mix and match two boosters with your cream, there is no caution, but the texture of your cream will be very watery. Ideally, if you want to use two boosters, best is to apply one in the morning and one at night."
Elixir Controle contains salicylic acid and niacinamide therefore is a booster is for acneaic skin and skin imperfections. It will not treat severe acne problems but it can be a good booster to apply complementing an antibiotic acne treatment.
Salicylic acid does a micro-exfoliating effect to refine and smooth skin texture but restore health as well thanks to its antibacterial effect.
Niacinamide lightens pigmentation and acne scars.
Stay tuned next week for my week three!
