Inspire from your favourite celebrity model or actress; we always will. But bear in mind these cool girls are loaded with stylists, makeup artists and retouching at hand to keep their image beyond perfect, without beauty blunders.
Since the general public aren't loaded up with their own beauty team here are a few common beauty mistakes teens make and how to fix them.
BROWS. Addicted to the tweezer? Time and time again we see over-tweezed, misshapen brows. Brows should not look like commas or expose the brow bone or stop immediately after the arch or... over time too much tweezing can shock the roots causing the brows to not grow back.
Fix-it: STOP! Put your tweezers down and run away from them. The more tweezing on a misshapen brow the worse it looks. There is help available for you:

- Seek a Pro 'Brow Architect' in your area. Magazines often cover best brows and how to get them. Not every waxer knows how to do a great brow.

Foundation. Cake Face? Too much foundation be it in powder form or liquid is not necessary and does not look good either. If you are covering up skin eruptions go to a dermatologist as too much makeup can aggravate your skin causing more issues and this could lead to dullness and scarring. Powder makes me shudder. I never recommend it unless it's for a special function. (a quick dusting for setting your makeup is all you need) If you are thinking 'But Andrea, I am really oily and need powder.' A select few will need it BUT - your oily skin will oxidize changing the makeup tones throughout the day. *Excessive skin issues = Dermatologist visit.
Fix-it: Start by mixing an oil-free moisturizer with your liquid foundation before application which gives you an instant tinted moisturizer. DIY Haircuts & Colours I know it looks easy, but speaking as a licenced hairstylist for ...uh, a really long time.... it's not, we just make it look cool and easy. If you feel compelled to cut your hair, aside from telling you to resist the urge, if you are possessed by the scissor devil, think: less it more. Colours, my Love, is a whole different ballgame.
Fix-it: Haircuts - If you have really made a mess of your hair you will need to make an appointment to get it fixed. Too choppy? Soften the ends by cutting into the hard edge with the points of your scissors, point cutting. Never cut your hair with a lot of tension as hair has movement and cowlicks and pulling down too tightly will cause the hair to spring up in different lengths.
Colour- First rule: COLOUR WON'T LIFT COLOUR. What does this mean? Well, if you decide to colour your hair dark brown then in a month you think blonde seems like a fun idea, it won't happen. You will end up a colour-cross between a Calico kitten and some Japanimation character - your roots (where your natural colour is) will lift, the mid-lengths and ends may or may not lift, but if it lifts it won't be even and it won't be pretty. The only way to remove artificial colour for a drastic colour change is in the salon as a professional will have to strip out your colour. This multi-chemical processing is harsh on your hair and will damage it.
Fix-it: So, you didn't listen to your mother and you are now purring like a Japanimation Calico. You can get a semi-permanent hair colour from the pharmacy to temporarily fix your colour. Avoid trying to fix with a permanent colour as it can only get worse. Semi-colours stain the hair and therefore are your best bet to even out a fresh 'oops'.
