V-Day. Love it or hate it- there is no running from Cupid's bow unless he slaps your ass... seriously, this happened to me on a blind date.

Picture this: Girl/Boy [actually woman/man], blind date: Snowy park, icicles hanging from the trees, moonlit; taking a cute little dog for a walk.

Romantic right? Pffft, anything BUTT... My  'date' was walking so fast, I  called out sarcastically  'I apologize as I can't  seem to keep up with your pace.'

He stopped. Waited for me to catch up

and then...

Proceeded to smack my ass telling me that I could 'make it up to him later'! Seriously. It happened. So NOT kidding. Wish I was.

I left. I bet he is still single.

I can't tell you how to behave on a date. Hopefully the above anecdote will give some guys an idea of what NOT to do.

While you're at it, buy her a vacuum cleaner... [image shared via EpicMakeup's FB]

Beauty wise, I can help you out. Here are some tips to get you from A to V [Day].

In February our skin is rejuvenating from the dryness of winter, give a gentle helping hand in restoring the lustre and texture while evening out skin tone. Choose a base that has both coverage and healing qualities. Try Dermalogica’s Treatment Foundation. Apply with a foundation brush for an air-brushed quality skin.

Why not get NAKED! The coveted palette by Urban Decay can be used for all your beauty looks from sweet & innocent to trashy vixen to naughty secretary ... sorry I mean 'naughty administrative assistant'

As if getting NAKED the first time wasn't enough... NAKED 2. [PS Thanks U.D for your invite to your recent artist event here in Singapore... Oops! I mean 'not'... I give you loads of love and you show nothing in return. Oh, well. I try to show unconditional love...]

Save water, shower with a friend! Whether rekindling the fire, on a first date set or after a successful date *wink* get luxurious tangible skin with The Body Shop Chocomania collection, from body scrubs to shower gels to body butters. With a universal appeal, chocolate tempts and tantalizes the senses.

Before you pucker up, lacquer up. Date night is a great night to get all dolled up, whether with an old or new flame; just remember – unless you are dating Joe Dirt, eat like a lady and choose your meal wisely. If you are wearing dark lip colors avoid the rack of ribs. The grease in the ribs will break down your makeup causing it to smear and bleed. Try NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils

Today there is more focus in the manicure department. Women are more than ever seeing nails as an accessory that is the perfect polishing to any outfit. You can opt for a simple manicure or why not ask you nail tech for the latest ½ moon manicure done in contrasting colors? A pink ½ moon finished with red or a MINX manicure in Red Cheetah or metallic hearts on red (shown).

Need a gift idea? This is a MUST see. All you need is a pair of his underwear and your face. Never bored with the artofdoingstuff

Can You Serve??

Can You Serve is a Singapore reality show whereas the contestants take on judged customer service challenges to become #1 in their field. Resident judges then critique their service, offering suggestions of improvement prior to letting one go. [I don't mean they fart; a contestant is voted off] Each episode has a guest judge who also interjects with words of customer service wisdom.

There is no dramatic "You're Fired!"! The host, Anita Kapoor delivers on each episode to the unsuspecting contestant 'Your services are no longer required.' Tears are shed.

Season 2 premieres on the 26th of July. For those not in Singapore or who just wish to repeatedly watch check out Can You Serve on youtube and please 'LIKE' the FACEBOOK page.

I watched season one on youtube and really liked the show, it's very entertaining with the various scenarios the contestants are placed in and the judges offer some great customer service tips that even viewers can takeaway.

Vested interest?

I am the hair and makeup artist for the host of season 2, Anita Kapoor.

What I used on Ms Kapoor here:

Skincare: provided by Dermalogica. Let's face it, Anita has gorgeous skin! This is one I use on EVERYONE: Dermalogica-age Smart Multivitamin Power Firm For Eye And Lip Area, $53.00 at Ulta

Foundation: Guess... yup, I'm a broken record: FACEatelier Ultra Foundation, #6

Cheeks: Cherry Cheek Tint by Joe Fresh Beauty

Eyes: We really favoured the Urban Decay Naked Palette, $48.00 by Urban Decay at Sephora

Lips: Stila Cosmetics This Availability Of This Item Is Unknown At This Time.$20.00 by Stila at SkinStore We used the Grapefruit Lip Glaze a lot. Not sure if the 'availability unknown' means that they are discontinuing these Lip Glazes. I hope not. LOVE them.

[NOTE: I was the hair and makeup to the host only, minus episode one because I was so bloody ill with food poisoning - thank's to a certain restaurant by the Indoor Stadium, I'll spare you the details but the upside I was down 5 lbs. Thinking of eating there this week...]

Wardrobe Stylist to Ms Kapoor: Faz Abdul Gaffa
